Intro to Man Is A Two-Story House |
This is a little history on the evolution of “Man Is a Two Story House.” The Two Story House is my own personal philosophy. It is the accumulation of 30 some years and counting, of personal observation and seeking. It is a personal attempt to answer the basic philosophical questions of Man and Mankind, which are “who am I”, “what am I”, “where am I”, “where am I going” and "where have I been.” It also is a philosophy that allows me to address the big “why” questions that we are faced with on a daily basis.
I began this quest or journey at birth I suppose, however, I realized that it was a “something” that I was going to do with my life around the age of 19. I had thought that a whole philosophy would have shown itself much earlier but the more I studied, the larger the task became. I approached the task of a whole philosophy in my thirties and early forties only to realize that my philosophy still lacked the simplicity and unity that I was seeking. Finally in my mid-forty’s during one of my regular Wednesday night group sessions, The Two-Story House came out of my mouth and on to the dry erase board. The group was a very high-energy group and the topic was spirituality. From that time to the present, I have used The Two-Story House as a foundation component in my weekly groups as well as in my personal life. I have found The Two-Story House to be one of the primary tools needed for persons in need of discovering or re-discovery of the Self through a different form of communication. What I found is that The Two-Story House is a tool to help redefine one’s ability to communicate.
The Two-Story House helps define the who, what, when, and where we are trying to communicate from. This is immensely helpful when we realize that people generally speak from where they are themselves. With that being said, interpretation and depth are a personal thing and therefore, not my business. Enjoy the house and may you get as much enjoyment from it as I have.
